In December 2014 I was out of work and feeling down over the amount of extra weight that I was carrying. At nearly 25st it was not only bad for my health but looked embarrassing.
On New Year’s Eve 2014 I made the decision to change my life and start losing weight and to get fit. So with the support of my family and friends I embarked on a new health and fitness plan with Evolve Fitness and Performance.
They explained a lot had to change and it wasn’t going to be easy but they were going to work with me and help me every step of the way.
January 5th 2015 was my first session with Evolve and my starting weight was 24st 8lbs. The first thing that had to change was my diet and nutrition. I was given a list of all the food I could eat and what would be best for the type of training I was going to be doing i.e. good quality food like chicken, red meat, sweet potatoes and leafy green vegetables… gone were the burgers, pizza’s and easy convenience snacks. Now I had a well-balanced weekly eating plan.
Then for the training plan and exercises that would help me shed the weight. Evolve recommended 2 –3 personal training sessions per week in the gym, along with walking every day and programmes to follow in the gym when training alone.
I knew it was going to be hard and at times really tough! But with Evolve’s help over the last 8 months I have lost nearly 6st. I also ran a 5k Parkrun in under 40 minutes something I never thought I would ever do. My weight is currently 18st 10lbs.
My journey doesn’t end here, with Evolve I am continuing on this road and with their motivation, knowledge and skills I will hit my lst target weight of 14st over the next year.
I really enjoy my training sessions, even when it’s a really tough one! The weight loss benefits have been amazing and I feel and look so much better, thanks to Mat Roberts and Evolve Fitness & Performance.
